Shenango Lake ~ Sharpsville, Pa

I had a great day at Shenango Lake, it is so peaceful
Here is the spot you want to be if you want to view the dam.
When you see this sign, walk up to the office and they will answer any questions you have, plus give you a map if you want one.

Look how beautiful the view is.

This is a view of the dam from the lookout. You must walk back past the dam and up into the woods to get to this...although you can drive to it from another spot. This is such a beautiful sight.
For Visitors...The things to do at Shenango River Lake are boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, water sports, winter sports, wildlife viewing, off-highway vehicles and learning about the history.

I have been writing all these places down that I can check out the next time I am in New Castle. I know this is close to New Castle but not sure where or how far. Thanks so much for showing all the places you go.

  2. So, this is near New Castle? I go to New Castle about 2 times a year but have never heard of Sharpsville.

Sharpsville is north of New Castle about 30 minutes. North onto 376 (old 60) to 18 North from anywhere in New Castle. Or North on 18 from anywhere in New Castle, half hour on that same heading. I thought I was biased about the beauty of place because I grew up here, but having been a lot of places, it's an awesome are to come home to! As much use as it does get, I feel it is largely a very overlooked resource. At least 6 nesting pairs of bald eagles, MANY osprey, lots of other wildlife & great fishing! Enjoy our neighborhood! (respectfully, of course!)

  4. Thanks Anonymous for the direction and your GREAT comment.
